Difference between a variation "Based on a Mask / Color" and "Based on Images".
When you set a template variations, you can see 2 options: Based on a Mask/Colors and Based on Images. Let's see the difference:
Based on Images
This is the default option when you create a custom product template. With this option you can set any set of variants like size, colors, shapes, etc. In this case, you need at least one image per variant.
For instance, If your product has 3 variants based on the size (a canvas in 3 different sizes), you will need 3 images representing the 3 sizes of the product. Or if your product has 4 colors, you will need an image of the product per color.
90% of your products will use this option. If you have doubts, select this option (Based on Images).
