Problems with Themes from Outside the Official Shopify Theme Store. Why Use Official Shopify Themes?.
To ensure that our app works correctly and to avoid compatibility issues, we strongly recommend using a theme from the Official Shopify Theme Store.
While you can purchase themes from other marketplaces like ThemeForest, we do not recommend it. Over the years, we’ve encountered many issues caused by themes bought outside the official Shopify ecosystem.
Important: We do not earn any commission or receive any payment based on your choice of theme. Our recommendation is purely based on experience. In our view, themes from the Official Shopify Store cause the fewest problems for merchants, which leads to better performance and fewer support needs.
Why choose a theme from the official store?
Themes listed on the Official Shopify Theme Store must go through a strict technical review conducted by the Shopify team. This ensures that each theme meets high standards in terms of:
- - Speed and performance
- - Code structure fully compatible with Shopify’s native features
- - Integration with third-party apps (including ours)
- - Best practices for accessibility and responsive design
Themes that don’t meet these criteria are rejected. That’s why there are relatively few themes in the official store—because getting approved requires deep knowledge of Shopify and high-quality development.
Often, rejected themes are sold in other marketplaces like ThemeForest, usually at a lower price, but without any guarantee of quality or compliance with Shopify standards. This often leads to conflicts, poor performance, or issues with installed apps.
About App Blocks and custom theme adjustments
In many cases, if a theme does not follow Shopify’s technical guidelines, it will not work correctly with many App Blocks, and manual changes will be required to make the app function properly.
This can also lead to problems later on, such as apps breaking after a theme update.
Important: We reserve the right to charge an additional fee if adjustments are required for a theme that was not purchased from the official Shopify Theme Store. We also reserve the right to refuse to configure the app on a poorly designed theme or a theme that does not fully align with Shopify’s developing guidelines.

Choosing an official Shopify theme is the best way to ensure long-term stability, compatibility, and performance.
